A question! (Possible spoilers.)

Dear Comm:

A friend of mine recently told me 'holy crap watari is canonically gay? win.'

Of course, this IS Yami no Matsuei. All the guys are gay by fandom. But. Canonically is another matter entirely considering a close friendship could be mistaken for canon homosexuality. So, I asked for where she heard this.

First, the quote: First of all, it's "King of Swords: Part III", and the only(maybe not only -_-) person that's yaoi is Muraki. Seriously, Yami no mastuei is not "Yaoi Land"!!! A lot of people will attempt to hurt you if you say something like that. I should know, a lot of people love this show and/or manga.

The last manga volume totally had a yaoi scene in it. Too bad they were both unimportant 1-shot characters.... Muraki is the least yaoi chara; only wants Tsuzuki's body so he can restore his brother so he can kill him again & again (plus he already has a girlfriend). The romance star (with Tsuzuki dead center) includes Hisoka, Tatsumi, & the count. Watari accidently blurted out that he he was gay to a girl when they were talking about hair. Tatsumi could easily steal Tsuzuki for himself if he ever gets over his blame-game issues & low self esteem. In fact before the haitus, a group of fans were discussing how Tatsumi & Hisoka could become rivals while Tsuzuki remained oblivious.

Yeah, I know, it's Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not reliable. But I feel the need to pursue the truth! This is the first time I've ever heard of this "moment" so I highly doubt it. But if I have somehow missed it (I don't know how I could have...) then please please correct me. Thank you very much.

*coffee snort* Yes ... but ... but ... in his line of work, those are the only ones he pretty much ever gets to meet, right? *ducks*

I guess this would be a lot more perverse and gross to me if death had any meaning in the Yami universe. Right now, it's seems to be more like taking a long vacation to the next city without ever being able to go back again. I guess short of the candle-snuffing thing and their judgement in Meifu, we never do find out what happens to all those retrieved souls.

Or do we?

It was less the perving on dead girls than the perving on corpses, I think, that bothered Tatsumi? ^.^

I think the souls of the dead live in Meifu until they reincarnate - I'm presuming Tsuzuki's landlord and his wife are in this situation.

There are also stuffed animals left on Tsuzuki's bed at the beginning of book 5 with a label saying Kazusa left them. I'd take that to mean she was still in Meifu and visited Tsuzuki, given the length of time elapsed between Devil's Trill and Bookverse (and the fact that she seemed to stay at the main building all through Devil's Trill).

Yeah, that is disturbing :p ... although I presume he might have just been thinking of what they looked like before the mutilation and putrefaction. (They aren't wandering around Meifu with their guts hanging out, are they? Although, of course, Hisoka can't seem to scrub that curse thing off him, so maybe they are ...) I guess I lean more toward that Tatsumi underestimates Watari, given that scene in Volume 23 (?) where Watari pulls out the disc. That was a telling moment.
